How to cancel LA Fitness
In-person or certified mail only to cancel, and the FTC sued LA Fitness in 2025 over its cancellation practices.
Steps to cancel LA Fitness
- 1LA Fitness does not accept cancellations by phone or through a standard online account button for most memberships. Plan for written notice or an in person visit.
- 2Get the cancellation form: sign in to your online account and open Account Information, then Cancellation Form, and print it, or ask for the form at your club's front desk.
- 3Submit it one of two ways. In person: bring the completed form plus a photo ID and your member number to any club front desk. By mail: send the completed form by certified mail to P.O. Box 54170, Irvine, CA 92619.
- 4Submit at least 30 days before your next billing date, since the notice period means one more charge can still post. Keep your certified mail receipt or a stamped copy of the form as proof.
- 5Note that LA Fitness cancellation practices are the subject of a 2025 FTC lawsuit, so an online option may appear for some accounts. If you do not see a reliable online confirmation, the written or in person route above is the documented method.

“The 30-day trial is unusually long for a fitness app, and Peloton's instructor-led classes still set the bar for engagement. Use the trial to honestly answer one question — do you actually press play three days a week without someone yelling at you in person? If yes, App+ is one of the best fitness deals on this list. If no, cancel by day 28 and the only thing you spent was time.”
