How to cancel Amazon Prime
No easy self-serve cancel: expect a retention gauntlet or a phone call to close the account.
Steps to cancel Amazon Prime
- 1Sign in at amazon.com, go to Account and Lists, then Prime Membership (or Memberships and Subscriptions).
- 2Select Manage Membership, then End Membership and Benefits.
- 3Amazon will show several offers to keep you; continue past each screen, declining them, until you reach the final confirmation.
- 4You keep Prime benefits through the end of your current billing period; if you have not used benefits this period you may be eligible for a refund.
- 5If you subscribed through Google Play or another store, cancel there instead.
Don’t get caught out next time

“A 30-day trial is unusually generous in this category, and it's worth using if you just had a breach or are about to apply for a mortgage. But this is the textbook "trial isn't the trap — the renewal is" service. Turn off auto-renew the day you sign up; the cancellation page is buried two menus deep.”
