Steps to cancel Ring Protect

  1. 1Download any saved videos first, since cancelling permanently deletes recorded footage.
  2. 2Sign in at Ring.com and open your plan information from the top menu.
  3. 3Select the plan you want to cancel, choose when to end it (immediately or at the end of the billing period), and confirm.
  4. 4If you subscribed through Amazon, manage it instead under Your Memberships and Subscriptions on Amazon and select End Subscription or turn off auto-renew. Note that cancellations on or after Nov 6, 2025 are not refunded; benefits run to the end of the paid period.

The free first application looks like a slam-dunk and it kind of is — TruGreen will spray your weeds at no upfront cost. The thing nobody mentions is that "first application" is the entry point to a recurring service that re-bills automatically every 6–8 weeks, and the next invoice is $65+. Take the first treatment if you want a real chemical knockdown of crabgrass without the trip to Home Depot, then call to cancel the same week. If you're not ready for that fight, just don't sign up.

We include Vivint specifically as a *don't-get-trapped* entry. The salesperson at your door will say "try it for 3 days," and that is technically true, but if you're not ready to call within 72 hours of installation you've just signed up for a 60-month $7,000 commitment. The system itself is good — pro-installed gear, real central monitoring — but the financing terms make this the most expensive "trial" in this entire category. If you want monitored security, take SimpliSafe's 30-day trial instead and walk away if you don't love it.

Owned by Target; genuinely useful if you do a $200 Target run during the window. (14-day free trial of same-day delivery)
