Following Paramount Skydance's October 6, 2026 close of its roughly $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO Max confirmed in an updated customer FAQ that there are no immediate changes to the HBO Max app, subscription, content library, or pricing. A group of Paramount+ subscribers filed an antitrust lawsuit on October 16 asking a federal court to keep HBO Max and Paramount+ operated separately while the case proceeds, with a December 3 hearing requested.

Disney+/Hulu/HBO Max bundle price rises alongside Hulu increase
As part of its September 23, 2026 pricing update, Disney also raised the combined Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max bundle by $2, to $21.99 with ads and $34.99 ad-free. Existing subscribers see the new bundle price starting with a billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026.
